Programs built for your needs
We design and run programming for school groups and classes, corporations and government employees, citizens, day camps, seniors’ centres, youth groups, community centres and more. Our nature-based programs can be designed or adapted specifically to your needs. Many groups take advantage of our proximity, walking to or using public transit to access parks where the lessons take place.
Forest School
Forest Schools began in Scandinavia and this child-centred approach to learning fits perfectly with our mission to connect with nature and encourage hands-on experiences.
Join the Riversong Forest School for family-friendly forest explorations suitable for pre-school children and their caregivers. We meet behind the Quilles Plus G Rosebowl 6510 Rue Saint-Jacques at 9:30 am one Friday per month.

Suggested rate is $25/family/session or register for all four seasonal sessions for $75. “Family” includes caregivers, parents, grandparents, babies in arms, and children up to seven years old.
Nature Walks
UrbaNature offers planned nature walks in the falaise Saint-Jacques or in a local city park on weekends and during the week. This stress-reducing and educational experience is offered to corporations and members of the public sector. It can be part of higher education programming or serve as a team-building exercise as well.
Day Camps
During the summer months, UrbaNature works with day camps around the “West End,” notably Côte-des-Neiges, NDG, the Southwest, Montreal West, and Lachine, providing unique morning and afternoon programming on an as-requested basis. Programming can be in conjunction with current collaborative projects such as studies by McGill and Concordia University or a simple nature programming geared to participants of all ages. We can often offer reduced prices for day camps serving a lower income clientele.
Research/Citizen Science
UrbaNature is at the forefront of biological research about the conservation of fauna and flora in the falaise Saint-Jacques. Visitors are often surprised at how many wild species can be found in this inner city woodland. During the summer, research is conducted annually on the health and essential nature of the falaise in collaboration with Montreal university researchers. Typically, such research identifies bat species from their sound signatures, runs firefly safaris, chases after butterflies, and participates in city-wide bird counts, Your team can book a special meeting to learn about our current research and see how you can get involved.

Schools
UrbaNature has unique programming for the academic year and we invite interested schools to engage our services both in the classroom and outdoors. We’ll create programming that both complements your current lesson plans and subjects you’re teaching and is customized to meet your school’s needs. We offer mixed-experience lessons tailored to Biology, Social Studies, Physical Education and more.
