For nonprofit charities, a special event can be anything from a dinner or a silent auction to a bowl-a-thon or even a golf tournament.

Differences between special events and third-party/peer-to-peer fundraising events

• In-house special events are organized and hosted by nonprofit organizations.
• Special events that are part of third-party and peer-to-peer fundraisers are created by individuals.

While they are about raising money, there are other benefits as well. Special events help nonprofit organizations such as ours make connections, attract donors and volunteers and build community, loyalty and social ties. They’re a fun way to celebrate what we do.
